Connected a scan tool and found codes: P2101 – Throttle Actuator "A" Control Motor Circuit Range/Performance; P2110 – Throttle Actuator Control System – Forced Limited RPM and P2112 – Throttle Actuator Control System-Stuck Closed. Inspected the throttle body wiring and connections, but found no obvious faults. At idle, used the scan tool to command the engine speed to increase and found the engine speed did not change. Used a multi-meter to inspect for voltage and ground at the throttle body and found the specified 12 Volts and ground were present. Removed the air intake hose to inspect the throttle plate and found the throttle plate did not move smoothly. These test results verified the throttle body was faulty.
Replaced the throttle body, cleared codes, performed a road test and verified the vehicle operated properly. The check engine light did not illuminate and no fault codes returned.
